Peaceful Pondering
Pausing on the edge of tomorrow I allow night’s shades to clothe me in cool comfort. Today definitely disappeared as quickly as it was born with infantile endeavours adolescent fears adult achievement and maturing marvels. Soulfully searching through the silent seconds, I see God driving with me through terrible traffic climbing up and down stairs listening silently to myriad conversations staccato and legato smiling sweetly at small surprises, Inspired by the generous Almighty I smile in return grateful for a gracious God faithful and forgiving as the clock happily tick tocks the time away. Truly touched by the potter earthen vessel that I am I gently inhale the spirit of love and exhale the toxins of the day watching the kaleidoscope of life flash by in colours deep and dark slipping into the box of memories wrapped with the ribbon of wonder.

Posted at 09:35h, 01 OctoberPondering peacefully, allowing each word and each vivid image to venture deep into the cave of my heart, I emerged with today’s snippet of an ever-unfolding autobiography enhanced, re-texted. Thanks, Viola. I walk through the day inhaling and exhaling in equal measure … inhaling “the spirit of love” and exhaling “the toxins of the day.” Keep up the great work.

Posted at 11:43h, 02 OctoberAh! A reminder that the potter’s hands are still gently holding us, molding us, caressing us and dwelling within us throughout the day. It called to mind the song Earthen Vessels by John Foley, SJ and the words “we are a treasure, not made of gold, in earthen vessels, wealth untold; one treasure only; the Lord, the Christ, in earthen vessels”. Thank you for the beautiful poem.

Posted at 21:21h, 02 OctoberI echo each one of the comments already made. This is a beautiful poem of thanksgiving, inspiring similar reflection in my own soul. Like a previous reader, I will endeavour to inhale “the spirit of love” and exhale “the toxins of the day.” And I do love the imagery of “the box of memories wrapped with the ribbon of wonder.” I can take a lot from this poem in my endeavours to ‘put to bed’ (pardon the pun) my insomnia.

Posted at 13:54h, 03 OctoberViola, you write so beautifully and touch each of us in a very special way.
In the midst of renovations which are progressing at a snail’s pace and far from smoothly, your poem reminds me of all that I am grateful for in my life and how easy it is to “exhale” and let the toxins go.
Thank you my friend.
