Hands
Applaud the long, ancient,
drip of a decision,
made over and over
uncounted, groping generations,
to sculpt the clumps
at the end of our two uprooted limbs
into tools that quiver
from the inside out
praying, holding, folding, feeling, stirring, strumming, tying, typing, cupping, dancing, writing, keeping, stroking, sifting, knitting, lifting, sorting, waving, playing, reaching, and,
ultimately,
releasing.
