We pray today and every day

not to change the mind of God

but to change our mind

that we may wake up and choose

life over death

blessing over curse

but that we may awake from our slumber and see,

bidding farewell to our dangerous myopic visions

dropping our blinders

not to change the mind of God

but that we may surrender all that is still stone in our hearts

and allow fleshness and real compassion to take over

We pray today and every day

not to change the mind of God

but that we may become a spark, a sliver,

a slice of the change we  long to see in our world

We pray today and every day

that our hearts may beat in synch with the pulse of Grace

whose other names are mercy, compassion, forgiveness

kindness and understanding.
