A Principled, Foundational Climb
Although my knees are shot, they’re still drawn to this staircase aching to ascend. The steps are not the view, that’s true, but nothing gets me there like they do: one at a time, well placed, a little effort each foot up, plus the magic-marvel of walking higher into a space otherwise completely closed to me but for this structure built long before my making. Back and forth stairs and legs call and respond in harmony, both attuned to ascension; and although my knees are shot achingly they step and step and are stepped up towards a full-on, flow-out, fear-free panorama where all is seen for miles around so beautifully together.
