Pater Noster (Slightly decolonized)

Source: NYTimes.com
Our Father,
who dies in heaven,
shallow is thy grave.
Thy kingdom spun
by everyone
who wants to take something away.
Give us this day
present justice.
Forgive history’s lapses
as we forgive those chewed
in sinful systems.
Let us not become defensive
and free us from indifference.
