– In Memoriam – A Call to Prayer

IN MEMORIAM
In memory of the 215 children whose bodies were recently found
in a residential school cemetery in Kamloops, British Columbia.

CALL TO PRAYER
Father God,
We ask that the cemeteries of these buried children
will be found and documented.

We ask, Lord, that You will help people
remember and/or find the records
that indicated where specific children are buried.

May these initiatives remind us of the sanctity of life
each child possesses.
You knew each of these children by name.
Help us to learn and remember their names.

Bring comfort and peace to grieving families
who long to know more
about where their children’s remains were buried
so that they can have closure.

It is not about prayers. It is about rescinding, revoking, annulling the Doctrine of Discovery. Get the Vatican to get rid of the Doctrine of Discovery. It is the Doctrine that put those children in the ground. Remember Galileo. The Vatican gets it wrong!!

I agree wholeheartedly with David Brian Tolich. Pray, yes. Pray to set our resolve to right the wrongs of the Doctrine of Discovery. Faith without works is dead. Action is called for from within the Catholic Church.

Such a sad picture: the room is dark; the bulletin boards are blank; the writing on the board is too small,
the teacher is expressionless, severe and dark; the children are not smiling; boys dressed in two types of sweaters and girls the same; none of them wear glasses – could they see the board? ; all have the same haircuts; the same book on their desk. We need prayers – we need their forgiveness – we need ACTION from the Church, from the government and from all Catholics.
