The Falls

I can not now speak of Innocence
for light has shone on my darkness
the door of awareness has opened
on a dark and dusty room.

Youth “knows” it all
but now I see my innate limitations
could only have been dismantled
by the pain of experience.

No matter how many books you read
the truth and goodness of reality is irreplaceable
and the more I see how much I fail
the closer I am brought to God.

I would love to have Grace as my spiritual director her poem goes deeper into finding God through the pain.
