Paul McNabb has laid down his tools to be with the Ultimate Artisan.
We feel a sudden emptiness, caused by the loss of a fellow traveller, one whose skill and creative spirit, brought meaning, art, beauty and friendship to the lives of those fortunate enough to have known him!
He now belongs to the ages, and yet continues to be a precious part of our memories. He made a difference, and contributed more than his achievements. He brought a unique giftedness and rich mystery to his work, work that continues to inspire awe, appreciation, and gratitude.
He lived life in imitation of no one else. He also gently shared his way of seeing things, as he kept seeking for ultimate meaning in his informed and constant quest for harmony and truth in his life.
The Anishinabe Spiritual Centre in Espanola was a spiritual home to this builder of great talent who blended the poetry of the cathedral with the cosiness of the home for those seeking to deepen their own spiritual quests at Wasseandimikaning.
He lived in his craft, far from notice or acclaim, simply pursuing harmony and truth in his life. He would agree with the great Russian writer Dostoevsky who claimed that "the world will be saved by beauty."
Rest in peace, dear friend, and may you see the One you sought, face-to-face.
