nothing much to look at
an awful lot to hear
He’s got more memory

can fill
His interface is sleek and spare
He’s under thumbs
and with every model
He grows smaller
almost too tiny to speak of
He lays soundtracks
to every act
of daily, dusty humdrum
you plug in
and run for miles
or pass through traffic
as if transcendent
God’s an iPod
your best ear-bud
killing you softly
with His song
of eternal life.
Isn’t that nice.
