Lent Webinar Series: The Resurrection: Belief vs Experience

Source: wikipedia.com

Scott Lewis, SJ, who teaches New Testament at Regis College in Toronto, recently presented the webinar series New Interpretations of the Holy Week Stories. He examined the Holy Week texts in light of recent theological trends and questions. The final webinar, “The Resurrection: Belief vs Experience” was held on March 9, 2021. One cannot imagine Christianity without the Resurrection, but what is it? Fr Scott looks back at the different accounts of the Resurrection to show the reaction of those close to Jesus and how the evangelists interpreted it. He also points out that the Resurrection is not simply a reanimation of a corpse, but a recreation, a transformation and a way in which God reveals himself.
