The worries of our daily lives
The panic in front of our daily difficulties
The anxious and powerless feeling in front of the future.

To worry is indeed to forget
That we are more valuable
Than the birds in the air
And the flowers of the field

God clothes the grass of the field
“which is here today and tomorrow is thrown”.
He feeds the birds
“who do not sow or reap or store away in barns”.

But worry just seems natural
When we face the insurmountable 
When the hardship of today
Turns off the light of hope that tomorrow has in store.

Nevertheless, worry is nothing
But a serious distraction
That wastes energy otherwise put to good use.
Worry is the opposite of faith.

Faith is rather having our eyes
On the tiny but uplifting aspects of the moment
Despite the trying hours of the day
Despite the looming hopelessness that worry would not resolve.

Instead of giving in to the anxiety and worries
That often invade and cripple our daily lives
Maybe we should look tirelessly
For the shaky and frail presence…

The shaky and frail presence
Of joy, light and peace hidden nonetheless
In some unexpected moments of our days…
So that “sadness” and worry could “flee away”.
