Precious Person

Source: pinterest.com
You are a diamond
in the rough and tumble
of a mixed up world.
The sparkle of caring
mingles with
the joy of giving
endless hours of listening
till that precise moment when
the finger of light
pierces the dawn of understanding.

Night’s anguish disappears
in the radiant glow of today
as the moon
slowly fades away.

Tired from travelling
many miles of darkness
lost in endless tunnels,
you stretch out
cleansing yourself of
unnamed fears
in the colours of the rainbow.

Blinking away
the old concerns
you uncurl your fragile self
and reach for new vision
in the tranquil buzz
of another day.

And the chirping of songbirds
lifts you out of a dream
shaped by the story
of your life
rolling along
in the river of springtime hope.

Thank you again, Viola! The imagery in this poem is beautiful, uplifting and inspiring. Instills hope where there is shadow and darkness. Brings to mind the message in the all-time favourite hymn … “And I will raise you up on Eagle’s wings …..”
