Queen Anne

Source: alltrails.com
Queen Anne puts on
her meadow lace
as summer dries beneath
an august company
of courtly clouds
that flirt but will not rain.

Dusty grow her hardened
palace floors
but the cream of her finery
she keeps in perfect richness.

So few these days feel
the weight of her authority;
so few believe
in her divine right.
Yet splendid she stands,
regal and defiant
against the mobbish change
eating away her kingdom.
No matter how strong the heat,
how loud the complaints,
blood like hers, truly blue, never boils.

I love the way you write, Fr. Greg. You see and understand things that us mere mortals do not. Long live Queen Anne!

    Hello Fr. Greg,

The Contemplative women of St Anne a ministry of St. Basil’s Church, To. in the last 7 years is humbled to know that the grandmother of our Saviour Jesus is now elevated to a queen. I say “humbled” because I am one of the original women who pledged and took the oath to the community. I am now requesting that I proceed to connect your special discernment on St. Anne to the CWSA community. There are 20 (give and take) committed women who meet for common prayer and studies and arts the latter happens every other month. Praise the Lord for the heightened interest, excitement and good news that your creativity bring to our community. Furtherly, enlighten me how can I make good function of St. Anne’s queenship
in the context of your poetry.

    In the name of Jesus,
    Zeny
