Some overly pleasant visitors lavished Jimmy with compliments:
“All of this choice for lunch. You’re the king, Jimmy!”

He sat with raised eyebrows and fixed gaze,
saying nothing, while his face said so much.

There was a wall between them
made up of their egos
and now he sat on the other side of that,
seeing things as they really were.

Do I know what he was thinking?
One thing was certain:
he wanted nothing to do with their compliments,
he had entered another world.
