A cry from a deep anxiety.

My God, my God …
The cry erupted from the heart
And continued earnestly:
“Why have you forsaken me?”

A cry from a deep anxiety
With harrowing words of sadness:
“My God, my God,
why have you forsaken me?”

Overwhelming desperation!
Lost in loneliness. Outcast.
But also tired, and mentally tortured.
Finished!

My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
In other words, why have I deserved such a fate?
Said otherwise: Lord, I beg you and beg you again,
Come to my rescue!

Let’s join in this singular cry
A cry relayed in echoes from the Calvary
Into the quiet lowlands of our hearts:
“Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani?”
