Easter Triduum

Source: the author
The tentative rabbit
 sees only the grain
 not the slender loop
 ready to tighten
 to choke out
 nourishing air.
 Vain the thrashing,
 inevitable the cold
 creeping, blood stopping.

There are snares
 hidden to catch me.
 God keep me
 from those snares
 save me from those snares

I believe
 God will set me free
 from the hunter’s snare.
“From those who would trap me
 with lying words.”

Per crucem
 et passionem tuam.
 through Your cross
 and Your Passion,
 You will deliver me
 from those who hunt me

libera  nos Domine
 save us all O Lord.
