¿Our Father?

Source: slideshare.com
Thy Kingdom come
on hard times.
Thy will be done
like dinner.
Our Father,
I don’t know whether
to sing or cry
half the time,
to pull down the Patriarchy
or lift up the Glory
of your Name
always a little clipped and bent
by my thick, human accent.
If your art is heaven,
then make earth your gallery
and in the public library
offer free adult education
on aesthetic appreciation.
If it’s a success
follow it with a course on forgiveness.
As for temptation,
decent daily bread
often helps its moderation
