Divine Assistance

We live in a world full of distractions. Finding a quiet moment can be rare, especially throughout a busy day.

The season of Lent is a good time to reflect on the busyness of our lives and how we can improve our lives by making the time to find silence, and peace of soul and mind.

So what should you do if you are facing a day that seems too full to accomplish all that you are expected to do? Seek ‘Divine Assistance’. I do it often, and it never fails.

Simply pause for a few minutes, and let God share your load. He already knows what is ahead for you and if you open your heart to Him, He will help you carry the burdens of your day. God will assist you to get all the important things completed.

One of the enemies of preventing us to get our tasks finished is worry. We spend far too much time worrying about the jobs ahead, rather than simply getting them done.

Having the right attitude is the secret to a successful day. To get things done we need to stop worrying about doing them or whining about the load of work that needs to be done. We should try and adopt a DO IT NOW attitude. Instead of wondering or worrying, we should simply get the task done. Work can never overwhelm you if you keep a positive outlook and try to stay organized.

Those few minutes of prayer at the start of your day can be of great comfort, and remind you that you are not alone in the challenges of your life. Here is a simple prayer that I have used to assist me on the days that might have overwhelmed me in the past:

Oh Lord, this is going to be a busy day. Help me to remain peaceful and confident, trusting in Your assistance. Show me ways to accomplish the tasks ahead that will serve Your plan for my life. Direct me, guide me, and help me to give my full attention to the work that I must do, May I live each moment with You by my side. Amen.”

Thanks Joan, that’s certainly some sage advice. Kinda reminds me of my father with his ‘DO IT NOW ATTITUDE”… He was never known for putting things off….
