Coming of Age

Source: beliefnet.com

I walked a lonely wilderness

For too many years,

A snob in futile solitude;

Ignorance protected me.

One day the sun beckoned,

Offering its warmth;

Blindly I followed.

Soon a garden of love

Took root in my heart,

And blossoms of faith were born.

Now I lie at night in peace,

No longer a hermit

Heading for hell.

I discovered the joy of sharing,

One hasn’t to look too far

To find understanding.

In moments of fear,

God is my protector,

And Life, well,

Now its one of my friends.
