A Poem for All Soul’s Day

Source: twitter.com

The invitation came again

To write a loved one’s name;

This simple act of remembering,

Permits the joy of memories

To flood our souls once more.

Grief came and went, hearts healed,

The hope of mercy prayed, with trust

in God’s abundant mercy;

Salvation claimed.

The act of writing a loved one’s name,

Permits the power of love

to fill our hearts

Once more.

Love lingers, never dies,

Their souls survive, for

Jesus suffered, promising

this truth for us –

To believe.

This name, remembered and the act

again fulfilled; new hope has, sprung

That someone feels inspired to write

Our names upon this book,

When our call comes.

    Very nice poem Joan. It is a special moment in time to remember everyone in our lives who have passed on.
