One small miracle.

Summer seems closer now that so many flowers are in bloom, the song of the birds can be heard and we are spending more time outdoors! There is a song of thanksgiving in my heart, as the Lord has once more answered a special prayer.

Two friends from Toronto visited me last month; devout Catholic women who had never been to this area. They inquired if they could see where I used to live at a farm in the country. It was a warm Saturday afternoon and perfect for a leisurely drive.

Before their visit I had been praying for the return of a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which had been placed in a small chapel built on my farm property. When I sold the farm over twelve years ago, my husband and I decided to leave the chapel as it was, with the hope that it could inspire others who might visit there.

I called the present tenants last fall. They look after the farm for the owners and so I inquired about getting the statue back. Apparently the raccoons had taken over this little house and damaged the entire chapel.

On the day of our country drive, we stopped by the farm, were pleasantly received and now, this statue is back home with me. On May 13, which just happened to be the memorial of the Fatima appearances, this statue was in my living room.

While walking along the driveway at the farm after picking up the statue, I saw a blue butterfly approach me, and land on a blade of grass nearby. These butterflies were always around our property each spring, and it was just as if Our Lady had given a sign of her approval of our time there that day.

This statue is an antique; a gift of the Religious Hospitallers of St. Joseph when their chapel in Cornwall was closed. How blessed I am for this precious gift. I was ready to accept never seeing this statue again, but Jesus had other plans. Thanks to the kindness of my friends and the tenants of my former home, Our Lady is back home with me.

I share this little story to remind you that we must never stop believing in the little miracles that God wants to give us. Let us never stop praying and trusting that He knows our needs. He loves us more than we can imagine.

I felt a special connection to the farm when you mentioned the blue butterfly.
To my knowledge if ever, I have never seen a blue butterfly…so you deserve
a visit from a very special creature from Father God. Thanks for sharing.
