The Shore

The same element which causes

the relentlessness of the waves

urges the flutters on the small leaves

as they swing on their long, skinny branches.

Flutter and swing.

Not until I saw their dance

did I stop cursing the motor boats

to which I ascribed waves

written off as man-made.

How much more peaceful are the sails

on the horizon

catching the sun-kissed wind.
