Diptych prints, Christmas gifts, hang on my wall

More than twenty five years:  Angel, Virgin,

Freezing in time one crucial moment in time.

Sceptre shown, Scroll seal broken, words spoken

‘Ave Maria, greetings, full of grace’,

Wings set for flight, Gabriel’s heard her reply.

Hand gesturing ‘how?’, head bent in acquiescence

Lips pursed after her ‘secundum verbum tuum’

‘Let it be done according to your word,

Mary waits;  the Holy Spirit’s already set

To quicken her womb with the Light of Life

And to alter utterly her life and all life.

Mary’s words reverberate this moment

And will until the end of all moments.
