City

My city mind

won’t sit down

on the old farmhouse porch.

It’s stuck somewhere else–

in its own traffic

in its own need to be

somewhere else

closing deals

or simply closing down,

because that’s what goes

for etiquette on the subway.

There is a lot of moons

my city mind does not notice,

because, sadly, simply,

there is just too much light to see.
